Australia’s legendary supergroup The Seekers is one of the most awarded and honoured music groups in the nation’s history.
Australian Honours
Australian of the Year
In January 1968 The Seekers were honoured by their country by being named jointly and severally as Australians Of The Year 1967.
In 1995, they were inducted by Peter Asher into the 'ARIA Hall Of Fame', and acknowledged as the group that first put Australia on the international music map.
Key to the City
In 2006 The Seekers were given the “Key To The City” of Melbourne by then-Lord Mayor John So.
Legends Stamp
In 2012, the group was honoured with its own Australia Post ‘Legends Of Australian Music’ postage stamp.
The Ted Albert Award
In 2013, The Seekers received ‘The Ted Albert Award’ from APRA (Australian Performing Rights Association” for Outstanding Services to Australian Music.
In the 2014 Queen’s Birthday Honours, the four members of The Seekers were each awarded the Officer Of The Order Of Australia (AO) in the General Division for distinguished service to the performing arts as an entertainer, through seminal contributions to Australian music, and as a supporter of not-for-profit organizations.
